I'm Now Officially an Adult!

April 27th, 2014

In this post, someone is included that I've mentioned in previous posts as Jj, but I'm now going to call him James, since I know him better now and so I'm more able to pick a more suited name. :)
First of all, I realized that I forgot to mention some things in my last post! First of all, in March, before the wind blew away all the blossoms, our apricot tree looks reaally pretty! I'm not a good photographer at all, but I still got pictures! :)

Secondly, on Valentine's Day, something actually happened! :D James got me a Minecraft (this one game) necklace! :)

The fun bit is that it's a diamond... :D

So my eighteenth birthday was on the 17th this month! That was ten days ago already... that went quickly. :) The evening on the day before my birthday, Wednesday the sixteen, my friend James came over on the train! We had to wait at the station for very nearly an hour because the train was late... that was fun, especially since I didn't think to bring a book or anything. :D I mostly passed the time by counting because I'm impatient, although I had to start over several times because I get distracted and then I'm also terrible with numbers, so I forgot where I was and then started over. :D My brothers, who were sitting next to me, really appreciated that. Anyway, then James finally arrived and we kidnapped him (though he didn't resist at all... the fact that he had nowhere else to stay might have had a little to do with it). Then we ate foods and my siblings met him! Argon, the youngest, liked him pretty much immediately, which is saying something since this is Argon I'm talking about. :D Then we sang! My family will often get together (usually at night because one, we're night owls, and two, that's when it usually works best for us. Though I suppose most of the reason then works best for us is because we're night owls... :D I think that's it, so I guess we spent a lot of time talking! :) Talking is fun.
Now onto my actual birthday! :) In the morning, we went to a place called MOPs (Mothers of Preschoolers), where many of us babysit. :) It's a bit difficult to explain, but I think I explained in a previous post that you can read if you have that much time or interest or both. :) So I babysit in the room with the 4's and 5's (there are a bunch of kids and they're split up into groups according to age), which means Argon, who's four now, is in that room with me. And naturally, James came along with me to the 4's and 5's. He got along with all the kids really well. I personally think that's because he practically is a child, so of course he gets along with them well. :) That day, we had an Easter egg hunt, since it was nearly Easter, and that was quite fun, I thought! Even though I didn't get any eggs... :D Then after MOPs, we went home and ate lunch! And then we got out Lincoln Logs! The boys didn't contribute much, though, because they were busy playing a video game on James's computer... :D So we played with the little girls, and also, I know we went outside for a while! We played on our swing set and James, Meinerium and I climbed the willow in our yard! Though I did most of the climbing. :D I love that tree! Oh, and James and I were going to make a peach pie that day, but the peaches that James had brought over were kinda weird and we were afraid to put them in a pie, so we threw them out for the deer to eat, and we joked that we were going to poison them... :D Then, since Mum was going out with Dysprosium anyway, she said she'd get some peaches while she was out, and the little girls, Meinerium, James and I went on a short walk! The little girls wanted to show a mailbox that literally looks like a fish to James. :) So that was lovely, short as it was! :) Later, my aunt, uncle, and my cousin came over! Oh, and my aunt and uncle made ice cream! Their ice cream is always so wonderful. :) While they were over, Daddy did a Bible study for my birthday! :) And that summarizes my eighteenth birthday! :) 'Twas grand! Oh, though I think I'll mention that for my birthday, James's sister Rose got me a candle! It's really neat because it looks like a tea cup on a saucer, but it's actually a candle! :)

Next was Friday! James and I helped Mum with breakfast! I feel that's note-worthy, for some reason. :) Mum cooked up the bacon (well, turkey bacon... it has less fat and we like it more, okay?) while James and I tried to make birds in a nest with a blanket (basically, toast with a fried egg in the middle and cheese on top)... we succeeded for the most part. :D It still tasted good, we just didn't fully know what we were doing. :) Then we played with the Lincoln Logs for a bit! Oh, and James, Meinerium and I had a short Nerf gun battle with me and James against Meinerium! ...Meinerium won... really easily. :D I think it was after that when I went inside and played one of James's games on his computer! :) Then I think we had lunch before and then had a bigger Nerf gun battle with all three of the boys! :) It was me and Vanadium against James and Meinerium with Nitrogen as a neutral party, attacking anyone he could. :D For the record, I killed James twice the amount of times he killed me. :D ...He killed me once... do the math. Am I not amazing?? :D Oh, then I think was when we watched Megamind! James hadn't seen it yet, so it had to be fixed. :D It's fixed now! Also, at one point that day, we watched something called Drive Through History! It's educational and so fun that I'll sometimes watch it just for watching it, like I did then. :) I know that it was Friday that James and I played Clue with the little girls (I won), but I can't seem to remember the order of anything that day. :) Also, because I like coloring, James, the little girls and I colored these... coloring pages... and it was way fun! :) I think it was about then that we went to this... something meal... oh, seder! Seder meal. :) It was being held at my church building, so we all went there to see what it was about. I could barely hear the guy who was talking and besides that, the child in me was telling me to have fun, so though it started out as a serious thing about the Jews, it quickly became me having fun! :D I didn't leave the table, and I'm mature enough to be quiet about it, but I honestly just enjoyed the whole thing! :) There was a candle and so obviously, I played a good bit with that, and somehow, just a bit of wax showed up on my plate somehow... I also kept eating this bitter herb dipped in saltwater even though everyone at the table really disliked it, and I didn't love it, but I just couldn't stop eating it! :D Oh, oh, and since we were instructed to, we dipped this sort of cracker into this sort of horse radish mixture and James put a good bit into his mouth, immediately died, and it was absolutely hilarious. :D Not that I knew what it was, but it was fun watching. :D And then I hesitantly tasted just the tiniest bit of it and completely understood... :D Not that that made it any less fun! :D When it was over, James and I went over to the dessert table and instead of eating desserts, ate these crackers that were on the table! :D Because we're grand like that. Nitrogen eventually joined us, but goodness, they just tasted so amazing! I didn't even want the desserts. :D Oh, although James did try one of the cookies and they apparently didn't taste very good... :) So maybe that contributed a bit to my not wanting any of the desserts. :D
Then Saturday! We had planned to go shooting, but it rained, so we ended up not. :) I went about my chores as usual, and James helped me a fair amount. :) Which included cleaning up the Lincoln Logs the fun way! :D (Destroying everything and pretending a tornado hit it and then put it all away..) We finally made the peach pie for my birthday that day! :) I had meant to take a picture earlier, but I had forgotten, so the picture came after I cut it in half. :) Still, I think we did quite a good job on it!

The juices spilled out just a bit, but it tasted quite good, although oddly enough, quite lemony. I also played a good bit more on James's computer that day! James and I went outside with the little girls for a while, and I read Harry Potter out loud to James! (He hasn't read the series and isn't much of a book reader, so I've been reading it to him.) Then my family called us in to watch a movie called the Book Thief with them. However, I know that that was near the end of the day, so I must have forgotten something... unless my chores along with computer playing really took that long. :)
Now Sunday... the last day. :) Everything has an end, and I am so grateful for the time I had with such a good friend and the brilliant birthday I had because of it. :) Mum, James and I all got up early so we could go to the Sonrise service that morning before taking James back to the train station to go home. James had packed up his stuff the night before and we took everything out to the car Sunday morning, gave him some banana bread for the train ride home, and took him to church. After the service, they served breakfast, which was rather good, and then we left for the train station. The train, naturally, arrived early - although I suppose any time it arrived would have been too early in my mind. :) Thus, James's visit came and went, and though it felt like he stayed for an eternity, at the same time, it feels like his visit only lasted for a day or so. Either time is strange or my perception of it is. :)
Moving on to more recent things, because I think I should, on the 25th, we all went to this art place! :) It was really neat - there were airbrush painters, pastel painters, blacksmiths... the list goes on! They each showed some of their work and described what they did! It was soo cool! :) I forgot to bring my camera, though.
So that's all I have! For now, good day! :)
